Welcome to the online home of Kaviak Alaskan Malamutes! I live in the Kansas City area and show my dogs primarily in conformation.
My goal is to produce healthy, good-tempered dogs who meet the AKC breed standard as closely as possible; who are built to do the job for which they were originally intended; and who provide many years of love and satisfying companionship to those who own them. To meet this goal, I screen all of my breeding stock for healthy hips, eyes and hearts; breed only those dogs with a temperament that, when properly shaped by good socialization and training, can succeed as a family pet; and plan my breedings using the AKC breed standard as my blueprint. I strive to place each dog in a home that will love that dog for the duration of its life and give it the best opportunity to realize its individual potential. I breed only when I want a puppy for myself, and I keep a waiting list for my puppies.
